I can't remember the last time that I posted something.. My camera had been on hiatus. I decided to post a few of my own kids for once. We recently went to my parents place in Florida to play in the sun. On the way back to the airport we swung by the Kennedy Space Center, we were able to see the shuttle on the launch pad and watch it launch on TV two days later! Max was impressed.

Okay, Let me start by telling you that I am not a sports photographer. Earlier in the year I had the honor of doing some photographs of the Eden Prairie Girls Basketball team for a program. Last night the girls played Hopkins ( ranked #1 ). I had the opportunity to be with these girls before, during and after the game and I was nothing short of amazed. I have never witnessed such determination, dedication, class and sportsmanship by a high school team in my life. They played hard and honorably... did I mention that they won?? Congratulations girls, you are now ranked #1. I feel confident that they will finish the season as #1 if they continue to play the way that they did last night.

Mini Session Events | Minneapolis Area Lifestyle Photographer

I am in the process of figuring out what my monthly mini - session events will be, here is what I have so far.

FEBRUARY - The date for February mini sessions is the 25th. I will be doing these in the studio and, if the weather cooperates, outside. I think that it would be fun to get some snowball or snow people shots. Spaces are limited so call or e-mail to book your spot today!

MARCH - Mill City!! March 13th. I am really excited about this one, mill city is a great place to shoot just about everything, this spot has so much character. These sessions fill up quickly so I might consider adding another date. Call or e-mail to reserve your spot.

I am working on some more mini sessions for the rest of the year so, please, keep checking back if you are not able to make one of these dates work for you.

yep, this kid is in the gene people *gasp* I know, I know.. it's okay, he is not on my side. (Don't think that I didn't just hear that huge sigh of relief.) Ethan's dad is my husbands brother making Ethan my nephew ( you with me here?? ) The other Jenne´s were kind enough to come from southern California to spend a bone chilling Christmas with us. Ethan just turned one in the beginning of the month so we thought we would snap a couple of pictures. Keith and Jenny were tremendously entertaining during this shoot while attempting to get Ethan to smile... I'll just leave it at that. Thanks for coming guys, love you!

I am honored to have been asked to do the photography for the Eden Prairie Girls Basket Ball teams. These girls were amazing to work with and they are even more amazing on the court. Coach Carr is my friend and neighbor and when I watched him with these girls I saw a totally different side of him... there is NO messing around. The girls are going for a division one title this year and I have no doubt that they will attain that goal with no problems what so ever. Their dedication amazes me. I strongly encourage you to check out a game. Good Luck girls, I loved working with you.

Our little caterpillar buddies are now beautiful butterflies. The butterflies came out of their cocoons and we sat and watched while they dried their wings and tried them out for the first time. We were lucky enough that our little buddies stuck around for some photos but they left us about an hour after hatching. We have one more cocoon but he seems to be taking his sweet time.

I have seen some of my photog friends do these shots and they always looked like a lot of fun with a big group....I just had no clue how ridiculously difficult it is to get a group of people to all jump at the same time! Seriously, this is easier said that done. We obviously didn't get everyone jumping at once but we had a pretty good time trying.

I believe that certain things should be left as they are. These images are ( photogs gasp now ) straight out of camera, no editing at all. I had the opportunity to follow and photograph this little girl and I was amazed by her innocence and wonder. I was inspired by something so simple, something that kids do everyday, that I am constantly taking for granted. I was reminded that not everything has to be so complicated. I was reminded that the universe is unfolding just as it should.

Studio Construction Madness

After months of negotiating we finally have a studio space in Victoria and we could not be more excited about it. We knew that we were going to have to put some work into the place but we didn't know how much until the work actually began. We are very grateful to Paula's husband for building our partition wall and helping us paint. We are getting close and should have everything finished by tomorrow!

Here is some of our progress...

Things were going well until Paula stared eating paint, that usually means it's time to call it is time to call it quits for the evening! ( lead paint must have been a childhood favorite)

Back again tonight for a marathon painting session. We will keep you posted!
